These terms and conditions apply to orders placed with Forget-me-not Vintage only. By placing an order the customer agrees to the following terms and conditions.
The Items
The term ‘the items’ refers to any hire items supplied by Forget-me-not Vintage, comprising a customer order, including but not limited to china, glassware, cutlery, table linen and silverware. The items in the collection are of a ‘vintage’ condition, therefore a certain degree of wear and tear is to be expected. The item classifications used by Forget-me-not Vintage are to be used as a guide only. Specific sizes, styles and dimensions cannot be guaranteed. The items are mismatching, this includes the cutlery. Cups and saucers are matching unless otherwise requested. The items in the ‘Silverware’ classification are silver-plated or EPNS. 'Bone handled' cutlery is melamine. Forget-me-not Vintage reserves the right to supply contemporary pieces where the pieces are considered appropriate for a ‘vintage’ theme.
Hire Period
The standard hire period is 1-3 days subject to agreement. A daily charge will be made for periods exceeding this timescale unless agreed in writing beforehand with Forget-me-not Vintage.
Delivery and Collection
Forget-me-not Vintage currently serves all areas of England and Wales. Collection of the items can be made from our premises in Blandford Forum, North Dorset, free of charge. Alternatively delivery and collection by Forget-me-not Vintage can be arranged. Please contact Forget-me-not Vintage to request a quote for this service. Delivery and collection quotes are based on mileage quoted using Google Maps at £0.45 per mile.
When the items are delivered to / collected by the customer, the customer shall inspect the items and accept the delivery / collection note. In the event of any shortage or damage, the customer shall note this on the delivery / collection note at the time of delivery / collection. If the customer fails to do this, the items will be deemed to have been delivered / collected in full in a clean and undamaged condition. If there is no-one available to check the items, the items will be deemed to have been delivered / collected in full in a clean and undamaged condition.
When the items are collected / returned, they should be properly packed as found. When the collection service is ordered the items must be securely packed ready for transit at the time and location agreed, if Forget-me-not Vintage feels the items are not safe for transit and has to re-pack the items, this will incur additional charges. This will be charged at 10% of the total cost of hire. Please remove excess food and drink from the items and make sure all the items are packed securely, using the packaging materials and containers supplied.
Washing Up Service
All the items supplied by Forget-me-not Vintage are clean and ready to use. Please note that due to the delicate condition of the items, they must be washed by hand and cannot be put in a dishwasher or any other commercial machine. Forget-me-not Vintage will provide a washing-up service and this is included in the price of the hire. Please ensure that all excess food is carefully scraped away from the items and they are wrapped ready for transit. Should Forget-me-not Vintage have to locate and pack the items, a packing charge of 10% of the total cost of hire will be deducted from the damages deposit.
Linen and Bunting Hire
The price of linen hire includes the cost of cleaning to be carried out by Forget-me-not Vintage. Bunting must be returned clean. Please ensure the linen and bunting is packed away dry as if left damp the linen and bunting can be irreparably damaged by mould and mildew. Should such damage occur a deduction will be made from the damages deposit accordingly.
Terms of Payment
For hire items, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total hire charge will be required to secure the order at the point of booking. This secures all the items specified on the customer invoice. The final balance is due 30 days before collection / delivery.
If delivery is less than 30 days from point of booking, the invoice is due in full upon booking.
All payments are non-refundable.
Payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
Loss and Damage
A refundable damage deposit will be required when paying the final balance and will be returned once the items have been returned and checked for any damage or loss of items. The customer will be informed within 7 working days if there are any damage/missing items to the order.
Shortages and / or damage to the items will be charged at up to 10 times the item’s hire price and deducted accordingly from the damages deposit. If the customer breaks / damages more items than the damage deposit covers, the customer will be billed for any extra costs.
Damage deposits will be returned within 10 working days, either in full or deducted according to any breakages.
In the event of a breakage, Forget-me-not Vintage kindly asks the customer to request that the venue / caterer keep the broken item(s) so that Forget-me-not Vintage can identify what is missing from the order and delete it from the catalogue.
Cancellation
If the customer needs to cancel the order they must inform Forget-me-not Vintage as soon as possible. If the cancellation is given with less than 30 days notice before the date of the event, the customer will be billed for 100% of the hire charge. If the customer wishes to cancel the order, this must be notified to Forget-me-not Vintage in writing and acknowledged by return.
Responsibility
Forget-me-not Vintage agrees to hire the items to the customer for the period of hire stated on the collection / delivery note. The items shall at all times remain the property of Forget-me-not Vintage. The customer is solely accountable for the items during the period of hire, from the time they are in receipt of the items until the items are accepted back into the possession of Forget-me-not Vintage. The agreement is between Forget-me-not Vintage and the customer. The hire-items are not to be used by any other third party.
Liability
The items supplied by Forget-me-not Vintage are old and delicate. Forget-me-not Vintage shall not be responsible for any injury or damage to persons or property arising from the items, however caused. Forget-me-not Vintage will not accept liability for any claims that arise from any event concerning or involving items hired by Forget-me-not Vintage, under any circumstances.
Terms and Conditions
Forget-me-not Vintage reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time. Please check Terms and Conditions on the website regularly because the amended Terms and Conditions will apply to the customer’s continued use of the website and / or order.
